🌴Followingthesunnah.com  🌟Bismillaah🌟 ☀️**•┈┈┈•✿❁✿•┈┈┈•* Part 3 Series of Benefits of the Greatness of Allaah's Attributes Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya Part 3 Resemblance of Allaah to that of Allaah's Creation Na'eem bin Hammad  -Rahimahullaah- (d.228 A.H.) said: 'Whoever brings a resemblance of Allaah to that of Allaah's creation then he has  committed kufr (disbelief). Whoever rejects that which Allaah described Himself with then he has  committed kufr (disbelief). In those matters which Allaah described Himself with and what  His Messenger described Him,  there is no Tashbeeh (resemblance).' Adh-Dhahabi (d. 748 A.H.) commented: 'I say this speech is the truth, we seek refuge with Allaah from Tashbeeh (resemblance) and from rejecting the Ahadeeth of Sifat (Attributes). What is affirmed of their understanding is not rejected, however after having Eemaan in these matters there are two despised circumstances: [First] - to interpolate and change the Ahadeeth of Sifat (Characteristics) from the subject addressed. The Salaf did not interpolate and twist them nor did they change the wording from its correct wording, in fact they believed in them and accepted them as they were. The second circumstance is: exaggeration and extremism in affirming the Sifat (Attributes of Allaah), and to give and embody that Sifat a form like that of the forms of humans. Also to give it a form in your mind, this is ignorance and misguidance. Indeed the Sifat (Characteristic) explains who the described is; so if the described is Allaah the Most Honourable and magnificent whom we have not seen, nor has anyone informed us that he has seen Him.  Along with Allaah telling us about Him in the revelation sent down: لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ 《There is nothing like unto Him 》 Therefore, how can there be space in our intellect to affirm how Allaah al-Bari (He who brings His creation into existence) is? How Far and free Allaah is from this.  Likewise is the Sifat al-Muqadisa (Holy & Pure), we accept it as it is and believe that it is true, we do not give a similitude for it fundamentally nor do we give it a form.' Part 2 *Gifting the Dead with Reading of the Qur’aan by the Living* Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Gifting the Dead with Your Deeds Allaah Ta'ala said { لِّیُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَیࣰّا } 《That he or it (Muhammad or the Quran) may give warning to him who is living》 [Yā Seen - 70] No. 2 - Bin Baz English What is the Ruling of Reciting the Qur’aan for the Deceased in his House?     Taken From the Fatawaa of our Shaykh, Allaama Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Azeez bin Abdullaah Bin Baz     Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya       The Question: Is reading the Qur’aan for the deceased– by placing copies of the Qur’aan in the home or house of the deceased – where some Muslim neighbours and friends come and each one of them reads a part for example, then they go off to their work and they are not paid for reciting …… And after they finish reciting they supplicate for the deceased and gift him the reward for reciting the Qur’aan … Does this recitation and supplication reach the deceased and is he rewarded or not?  I hope for a benefit and I am grateful to you….. Taking into account that I heard some of the scholars saying that it is absolutely prohibited, some saying it is disliked and some saying it is permissible.   The Answer: This action and the like of it has no foundation and it is not recorded on the authority of the Prophet – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – nor on the authority of his Companions -radiAllaah anhum – that they used to read for the deceased.   Rather the Prophet – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – said: ‘Whoever does an action which we have not commanded then it is rejected.’ Narrated by Muslim in his authentic book and Bukhari mentioned it without a complete chain but he was decisive about its authenticity.   Also, in the two Saheehs of Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of ‘Aeysha -radiAllaah anha – on the authority of the Prophet – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – who said: ‘Whoever innovates in this matter of ours, that which is not from it, it will be rejected.’   In the Saheeh of Muslim on the authority of Jaabir -radiAllaah anhu – that the Prophet – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – used to say in his Khutbah on Fridays: Amma ba’d:   Indeed the best speech is the Speech of Allaah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad – sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– and the worst of the affairs are the innovated ones.  Every innovation is a Bida’ and every Bida’ is misguidance.’ Nisa’ee mentioned an extra wording with an authentic chain: ‘and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.’   As for charity for the deceased and supplicating for them, then that benefits and reaches them and the Muslims are in consensus about that. And with Allaah is the capability and Allaah’s aid is sought.   Majmoo’ Fatawa – Ibn Baaz vol. 4 p. 339   Arabic ما حكم قراءة القرآن للميت في داره؟ (١) سؤال: هل قراءة القرآن للميت بأن نضع في منزل الميت أو داره مصاحف ويأتي بعض الجيران والمعارف من المسلمين فيقرأ كل واحد منهم جزء مثلا ثم ينطلق إلى عمله ولا يعطى في ذلك أي أجر من المال، وبعد انتهائه من القراءة يدعو للميت ويهدي له ثواب القرآن. فهل تصل هذه القراءة والدعاء إلى الميت ويثاب عليها أم لا؟ أرجو الإفادة وشكرا لكم. علما بأني سمعت بعض العلماء يقول بالحرمة مطلقا والبعض بالكراهة والبعض بالجواز. . الجواب: هذا العمل وأمثاله لا أصل له، ولم يحفظ عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ولا عن أصحابه رضي الله عنهم أنهم كانوا يقرءون للموتى، بل قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من عمل عملا ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد (٢) » أخرجه مسلم في صحيحه وعلقه البخاري في الصحيح جازما به، وفي الصحيحين عن عائشة رضي الله عنها عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: «من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد (٣) » وفي صحيح مسلم عن جابر رضي الله عنه «أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول في خطبته يوم الجمعة أما بعد فإن خير الحديث كتاب لله وخير الهدي هدي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وشر الأمور محدثاتها وكل بدعة ضلالة (٤) » زاد النسائي بإسناد صحيح: «وكل ضلالة في النار (٥) » . أما الصدقة للموتى والدعاء لهم فهو ينفعهم ويصل إليهم بإجماع المسلمين. وبالله التوفيق والله المستعان. 🌴Followingthesunnah.com 🌟Bismillaah🌟 ☀️ Series of Benefits of the Greatness of Allaah's Attributes *Part 2* Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya *The General Madhab of the People of Truth regarding the Sifaat of Allaah Ta'ala* Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah (d.728 A.H.) -Rahimahullaah- said: ‘Then the comprehensive statement of all these matters is: that Allaah is described by that which He describes Himself with, or with what His Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- described Him with, and with what the Sabiqoon al-Awaloon (the foremost of the Muslims) described Him with, and they would not surpass the Qur’aan and Hadeeth. Imam Ahmad -RadhiAllaahu anhu- said: 'Allaah is not described except by that which He described Himself with, or with what His Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- described Him with, and not surpassing the Qur'aan and Hadeeth.' The Madhab of the Salaf is that they describe Allaah with that which He describes Himself with, or with what His Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- described Him with, without Tahreef (alteration and distortion of the textual wording) and without Ta’ateel (negation of Sifaat) and without Takyeef (enquiring to how Allaah's Attributes are) or Tamtheel (to liken Allaah or His Characteristics to that of the creation). We know that with which Allaah described Himself with is the truth it is not a puzzle nor an argumentation, but in fact, the meanings of the Sifaat are known whereby the aim of the one speaking is known, especially since the speaker is the most knowledgeable of the creation of what to say, and the most eloquent of the creation in clarifying knowledge, and the most sincere of the creation in explaining and familiarising and evidence and teaching. Along with this, there is nothing like unto Allaah Subhanahu, not in His Pure and Divine Essence which is mentioned by His Names and His Attributes. Nor in His Actions, so just as it is a certainty that Allaah Has a real Essence, likewise He has real Actions, therefore, just like He has real Attributes and there is nothing like unto Him, not in His Essence, nor His Attributes and His Actions. Every matter which obligates deficiency or adversity then indeed Allaah is in reality far and free from that.' [From Fatawa al-Hamaweeyah p.271] Arabic Reference [ابن تيمية] [مجمل مذهب أهل الحق في صفات الله تعالى] : ثم القول الشامل في جميع هذا الباب أن يوصف الله بما وصف به نفسه، أو بما وصفه به رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وبما وصفه به السابقون الأولون لا يتجاوز القرآن والحديث. قال الإمام أحمد رضي الله عنه: «لا يُوصف الله إلا بما وصف به نفسه، أو بما وصفه به رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يتجاوز القرآن والحديث» . ومذهب السلف أنهم يصفون الله بما وصف به نفسه وبما وصفه به رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم من غير تحريف ولا تعطيل، ومن غير تكييف ولا تمثيل ونعلم أن ما وصف الله به من ذلك فهو حق ليس فيه لغز ولا أحاجي، بل معناه يُعرف من حيث يعرف مقصود المتكلم بكلامه، [لا سيما إذا كان المتكلم أعلم الخلق بما يقول وأفصح الخلق في بيان العلم وأنصح الخلق في البيان والتعريف والدلالة والإرشاد] . وهو سبحانه مع ذلك ليس كمثله شيء لا في نفسه المقدسة المذكورة بأسمائه وصفاته، ولا في أفعاله، فكما يتيقن أن الله سبحانه له ذات حقيقة، وله أفعال حقيقية، فكذلك له صفات حقيقية، وهو ليس كمثله شيء لا في ذاته، ولا في صفاته، ولا في أفعاله، وكل ما أوجب نقصًا أو حدوثًا فإن الله منزه عنه حقيقة. The Shaykh answered: ‘Surah al-Baqarah should be read and what is easy for you from the Qur’aan in parts of the house. It is upon the people of the house to fortify themselves with the Adhkar of the morning and evening. I advise with a beneficial book regarding this -In shaa Allaah- which is called ‘Saheeh al-Kalima Tayyib’ by Al-Albaani. Followingthesunnah.com The obligation of returning to the Truth* '' ﻭﺟﻮﺏ ﺍﻟﺮﺟﻮﻉ ﺍﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺤﻖ '' Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Shaykh Rabee bin Hadi al-Madkhali said: ( وَهَبَ أَنَّنِي أَخْطَأْتُ ، أَوَّلًا : 'Let's say I made a mistake, so firstly: - أَلَيْسَ فِي دِينِ الله وَجُوبُ الرَّجُوعِ إِلَى الْحَقِّ؟ • Is it not in the Deen of Allaah about the obligation of returning to the truth? - أَلَمْ يَكُنْ عُمَرُ رَجَّاعًا إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَقَافًا عِندَ كِتَابِ اللہ؟ • Did Umar not return to the truth according to the Book of Allaah? - أَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ مَنْهَجِ السَّلَفِ وَوَاقِعِهِمُ الرَّجُوعُ إِلَى الْحَقِّ؟ • Is it not from the Manhaj of the Salaf, and their reality of returning to the truth? -أَلَيْسَ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَئِمَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ قَوْلَانِ أَوْ أَكْثَرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْمَسَائِلِ؟ • Does not every one from the Imams of Islaam have two opinions or more in many issues? - بَلْ لِلْإِمَامِ الشَّافِعِيِّ مَذْهَبَانِ مَذْهَبٌ قَدِيمٌ وَمَذْهَبٌ جَدِيدٌ؟ • In fact, Imam ash-Shafa'ai had two Madhabs, the old madhab and the new Madhab. - أَلَيْسَ مِنَ الْمَمَادِحِ وَالْمَكْرُمَاتِ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ الْمُسْلِمُ مِنَ الْخَطَأِ إِلَى الصَّوَابِ؟ • Is it not praiseworthy and noble that a Muslim recovers from a mistake to what is correct? - وَمِنَ الْبَاطِلِ إِلَى الْحَقِّ؟ • From falsehood to the truth? - فَمَا بِالْكُمْ تَجْعَلُونَ الْمَمَادِحَ مَذَامًّا وَالْمَكْرُمَاتِ نَقَائِصَ؟ • So what about how you make the praiseworthy dispraised and the noble deficient? وَمَا بِالْكُمْ تَنْحَدِرُونَ إِلَى أَسْفَلِ تَارَةٍ وَتَرْجِعُونَ عَنْ الْحَقِّ إِلَى الْبَاطِلِ تَارَاتٍ • How can you sometimes regress so sharply to the bottom and sometimes you prefer that the truth is falsehood ''بَلْ تَنَاصَرُونَ الْبَاطِلَ وَتُحَارِبُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَهْلَهُ _ فَهَذِهِ هِيَ الْعُيُوبُ الْحَقِيقِيَّةُ وَالْعَارُ وَالنَّارُ إِن لَّمْ تَتُوبُوا إلى الله • In fact, you aid falsehood and war against the truth and its people. This is deficiency in reality and destitution and fire if you do not repent to Allaah.' This is deficiency in reality and destitution and fire if you do not repent to Allaah.' May Allaah bless you, what is your advice regarding this? Answer: ‘Our advice is that a Muslim should keep away from pronouncing divorce as much as he can, in keeping his wife. So, he should keep away from wordings of pronouncing divorce and he should not be laxed with it, nor should he joke with it or play, or say it threatening her, or anything similar to this of what some of the ignorant ones say. Divorce is a weapon which is only used as a necessity and with a certain amount, only the amount which also repels a necessity. The Answer: This is detailed, and the fiqh committee of Makkah of which I was the head of, researched this matter. The scholarly brothers researched this matter and clarified that it is obligatory upon those responsible to treat and have a concern and care for a patient according to their abilities.   If the doctors know that there is no benefit in treating the patient and that medication does not benefit or help, then there is no problem of leaving that patient and not treating him, because the aim from medication is to benefit the patient. Therefore, if it is known directly from doctors that this Medication does not help or benefit, and in fact could be harmful then no treatment is given and he is left to the command of Allaah, except if the doctors find something which aids him to live, or benefits him, then they should help him:  Whether it is from medication, or an injection, or cryotherapy freezing parts of the muscle tissue, or other Matters which are known from treatment. Whereas if according to their knowledge medication does not benefit then it is no problem in leaving the patient. It is necessary to form a committee of doctors and this committee decides with overwhelming presumption that these modern machines (Life Support Machines) may save him from death, then they are left on. If overwhelming presumption is that these modern machines (life support machines) may not save him from death but keep him alive for a day,  or two days a month, two months, but finally it is necessary that he will take his last breath. Then in this second circumstance these Machines are taken off, and he is left to die a natural death. The great Companion Ibn Abbas RadhiAllaahu anhu said: 'It is disliked that a person stands for his prayer lazily. Rather, he should stand for it, with a beam, with a great desire, extremely happy. The Prophetic Duas and Adhkaar are the best Dhikr and Dua which a cautious person has concern with. He follows them upon the path of peace and security, achieves by it goodness and repels evils which a person cannot express in speech, and a person cannot encompass it. The Adhkaar other than the Prophetic Adhkaar may perhaps be prohibited or perhaps it is disliked, or perhaps it may contain Shirk by which most of the people are not guided, the discussion and details are lengthy. It is not allowed for anyone to specify types of Adhkaar and Dua for the people other than which are mentioned in the Sunnah and to make them as a regular worship which the people constantly practice.
