On Friday, the 25th of June 2010 (14 Rajab 1431H), the following question was posed to the Al-ʿAllaamah Rabeeʿ Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee: 

“O Shaykh, as you are aware, there are no scholars in Britain, but is there anyone residing there that you advise us with, who can connect us to the people of knowledge?” 

The Shaykh, may Allāh preserve him, mentioned: “Our brother Hassan as-Somali (who was present in the gathering), Abū Khadeejah and his companion (Abu Hakeem).“

نصح الشيخ العلامة ربيع بن هادي المدخلي حفظه الله تعالى بعض الشباب الزائرين له من بريطانيا أن يعتنوا بكتب ابن القيم وابن تيمية، ونصحهم بالعقيدة الواسطية وغيرها من الكتب في العقيدة، وأن يعتنوا بالأسماء والصفات، والردود على الصوفية والخوارج والرافضة، وقال بأنهم مجتمعون، وصور هذا بتشبيك أصابعه، ثم سكت لمدة.

ثم قال: “والله لا أدري السبب ولكن وجدنا كثيراً من الشباب مثلكم، عندهم حرص وحماس، يريدون خيراً، يريدون أن ينصروا الدعوة، ولكنا وجدنا – مع الأسف – كل من فارق الإخوة في المكتبة السلفية، قد ضلوا وأضلوا. فما وجدنا من فارقهم إلا كان هذا حالهم، فلا تفارقوهم، بل كونوا معهم وتعاونوا مع إخوانكم، خاصة في ما أشكل عليكم، شاورهم في الأمر وارجعوا إليهم.”

كانت هذه الجلسة في الليلة السابعة من رمضان، عام 1438 هـ. بعد صلاة التراويح.

The Shaikh and ʿAllāmah Rabeeʿ Ibn Hādī Al-Madkhalī (may Allāh preserve him) advised some British youth who visited him to give attention to the books of Ibn Al-Qayyim and Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمهما الله), and he advised them to study Al-ʿAqīdah Al-Wāsiṭiyyah and other books of Creed, and to give concern to understanding the Names and Attributes of Allāh, and attend to the refutation of the Ṣūfiyyah, Khawārij, and Rāfiḍah — and he said that they are in reality united, and illustrated this by interlocking his fingers together.

Then he was quiet for a time. Then he said:

“By Allāh! I do not know the reason, but we have found that there were many youths like you, who had passion and zeal, and who wanted good, and wanted to aid the Daʿwah — but we found, to our sorrow, that anybody who split away from the brothers at Salafi Publications went astray and led others astray!

So, we did not find anyone who split away from them except that this was his state — so do not split from them! Rather, be with them, and cooperate with your brothers, especially in that which you find confusing, and make consultation with them, and return to them.”

This sitting took place after Tarāwīḥ prayers on the 7th night of Ramadan, 1438 AH, coinciding with June 1st, 2017 CE.

Shaykh Rabee’ said: “Ask Abū Khadeejah, he is more knowledgeable of your affairs and situation in the West than me; perhaps he will be able to answer and benefit you. As for me, I can’t speak on such an issue“.

Our brothers for the sake of Allāh, the Salafīs, the brothers at Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah (Salafi Publications) and the Islamic Centre in the city of Birmingham in Britain are mentioned with goodness and love for the Sunnah, and calling to it, and for waging war against innovations and hizbiyyah (blame-worthy partisanship).

I know from them Abu Sufyān and hear good regarding the two noble brothers: Abu Khadeejah and Abu Talhah.

I hope that Allāh guides our brothers from Ahlus-Sunnah to cooperate with them financially and spiritually for they are deserving of that. Verily, Allāh supports His servant so long as he is in support of his brother. And they, may Allāh preserve them, are confronting the call to Christianity, to Atheism, the prohibited displaying and uncovering [of women] as well as the calls to innovation and hizbiyyah. They (Salafi Publications) protect their brothers for Allāh’s sake from slipping into the Fitan (trials), innovations and other than that from various types of misguidance. May Allāh grant success to all in that which He loves and is pleased with.

“All praise is due to Allāh, māshā’ Allāh! They have translations, they have a Salafi Maktabah, they have a school — secondary or primary — and all of this is an immense thing! And all praise is due to Allāh, they are a large number.
And with them are Mashāyikh: from them is Shaykh Abu Khadeejah — from the People of Knowledge (Ahlul-‘Ilm)!

Students of knowledge who are good, Inshā’Allāh. And other than him, from them Shaikh Abu Hakeem Bilal — all of these and other people Māshā’Allāh — I met many people, however, I forget the names. And they are people upon goodness, and they have with them Students of Islamic Knowledge who are wise, intelligent (nābihīn) — and it is lāzim (necessary and incumbent) to walk upon their path! They have indibāt (determination and discipline) — and all praise is due to Allāh — and they have ta’āwun (mutual cooperation) and love for Allāh’s sake. And they are from the best of the organisations that we have seen. Our Lord; give them success, and keep them firm, and increase them from Your Virtue.”

“I’ve heard the news and I said this is good In shā Allāh; they informed us that you have a lecture series there (in Trinidad). May Allāh reward you; and this is good that you are striving to convey the message of Tawḥīd and the correct Manhaj. May Allāh reward you with good, on our behalf and on behalf of the Muslims; you and your brothers. And convey my Salām to the brother, Shaykh Abū Khadeejah and the brother, Shaykh Ḥasan as-Somali and the other brothers whose names I don’t recall (right now). I ask Allāh to grant you success and soundness. May Allāh preserve you and bless you with good. […] May Allāh preserve you and give you (abundant) blessings. You are striving in those lands and you are our representatives in the lands of Europe and America. You convey Tawḥīd and the (correct) Manhaj to the Muslims in those lands.

May Allāh grant you success and make you upright. I advise myself, and you with having love for your brothers, and giving triumph to one another; and with mutual cooperation and mutual love. And to tie the bonds of brotherhood in a beautiful manner; and may Allāh unite you all together in the lands of Europe and bless you with success and soundness. And may He protect you, your families and your children, for indeed you have a tremendous task in the lands of Europe and America to convey Tawḥīd and the correct Manhaj.

And so, may Allāh grant you success and plant your feet firm and straight. May Allāh reward you tremendously on our behalf for what you do for al-Islām.”

“The people of innovation speak ill about Ahl al-Sunnah. Abū Khadījah is from ʿAhl al-Sunnah, Abū Ḥakīm Bilāl is from Ahl al-Sunnah, and Ḥasan al-Ṣumālī is from Ahl al-Sunnah. They are from the callers of Ahl al-Sunnah — this is something which is well-known.

If they err, we will tell them to retract their error, and they will retract. So why do you speak ill of them? Do you want to cause fitnah for them? Do you want to deter the people from them?

The people of Sunnah are few in number, how can you speak ill about the people of Sunnah? Those who speak against the people of Sunnah are not from them. Rather, they concur with the people of innovation.

So my dear brothers, do not speak ill of these Duʿāt, the likes of Abū Khadījah and other than him, because they are from the callers of Ahl al-Sunnah. If they err, we will tell them to retract. Do not try to discredit them and ruin their reputation because this is something that hurts the People of Sunnah.

May Allāh reward you for listening to this advice, may Allāh bless you and may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم).”

Shaykh Falāḥ bin Ismāʿīl al-Mandakār رحمه الله narrated:

“Shaykh ʿAbdullāh bin al-Ghudayān—I remember visiting him on one occasion. The point being, some of the brothers mentioned to Shaykh al-Ghudayān …

So the Shaykh said to me, ‘Mā shā Allāh, you visited Birmingham?’ This is how he would pronounce it, ‘Birmingham.’

I said, ‘Yes.’

Shaykh al-Ghudayān said to me, ‘Mā shā Allāh, do you know Abū Khadeejah?’

I said, ‘How can I not know Abū Khadeejah.’

And Shaykh al-Ghudayān had a weekly lesson with the brothers (at Salafi Publications).”

“Firstly: I have known Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah in Birmingham, Britain for many years. And they are, and all praise is due to Allāh, upon the Manhaj and goodness, and we do not know from them except goodness.

Secondly: It is inevitable that the people of desires and innovators wage war against Ahlus-Sunnah and attack them and will devise plots against them – with accusations that have no limits to them – amongst them are those that you have mentioned and there are others. However, this does not harm. For the one who has patience upon whatever he encounters in the path of calling to Allāh the Mighty and Majestic, then his end result is aid [from Allāh].

Salafi Publications in Birmingham – and all praise is due to Allāh – is tied to the people of knowledge, and they take from them… So, it is not strange that these accusations from some people should be made against Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah.

And I invite our sons in the West, in America, Canada, France and other states of Europe, to cooperate with Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah in Birmingham – and I invite Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah in Birmingham to cooperate with the other Salafi maktabāt in America and Europe, for cooperation between the Salafi bookstores and Salafi mosques in the West is what will strengthen their spine, and Allāh will, on account of this, support and aid them – and that they strengthen the bond that is between them of truth and guidance. And it is not permissible that we lend our hearing to the people of desires – and it is not permissible that we should accept their oppressive accusations.”

“And we know in these days what has afflicted Maktabah Salafiyyah in Birmingham, from a people who ascribe to the Sunnah. And these (people), I don’t know what has carried them to (make) this audacious attack. And we, all praise is due to Allāh, know the Maktabah for years, and that which we advise everyone who is affiliated with the Maktabah, regardless of whether it is someone who is part of it, or one who listens to its lessons (that are organised by it), or who is close by it, that they don’t pay any attention to this audacious attack. 

This is because, the Maktabah (Salafi Publications), and all praise is due to Allāh, Allāh has paved the way for it in the last few years, from the people of knowledge and excellence who have become tied with it and who have acknowledged [and partaken in] its striving in calling to Allāh, the Sublime and Exalted. 

And I emphasize that you do not pay attention to this hateful, large-scale attack, from some of those who ascribe to the Sunnah.

And we know them to be students from the Islāmic University (of Madeenah). And we know others, but we do not like to name anyone.

And that which I advise the Muslim men and women who have an attachment to the Maktabah Salafiyyah, is that they have patience and seek aid from Allāh, and not be deceived by the large numbers of opposers. And how excellent is what has been said by Fudayl bin ‘Iyād raḥimahullāh, “You must follow the paths of guidance, and the scarcity of followers will not harm you. And beware of the paths of misguidance, and do not be deceived by the abundance of those who perish”. And greater than this sentence in admonition and lesson, is what is authentically reported from the Prophet ﷺ: that the nations were presented to him and that he saw a prophet having with him between three to ten people, and a prophet having with him one or two people, and a prophet who had no one with him. So let all of this be a lesson. 

And some trustworthy brothers have informed me that when Shaykh Waseeullāh ‘Abbās visited the Maktabah and said what he said of words that he did not fully comprehend, and which had been put into his ears by way of some people of biased personal interests, that fifteen people left the Maktabah. 

And the answer to this is that this does not harm you, even if only fifteen people remained (with the Maktabah), so long as you spread the Sunnah, and you aid it, and defend it and its people. 

I will end this word with a very beautiful story, its essence is that Imām Mālik (raḥimahullāh) authored the well known al-Muwatta’. And the Imām Ibn Abee Dhi’b (raḥimahullāh) authored a Muwatta’ greater in size than it. So it was said to Imām Mālik, “What is the benefit in this Muwatta’ of yours when Ibn Abee Dhi’b has authored a Muwatta’ greater in size than yours?”. What do you imagine about the saying of Imām Mālik (that he responded with). He said a very amazing and beautiful statement, within which, by Allāh, is an admonition, and within which is an encouragement for whoever calls to the truth even if those who follow him are few. He (raḥimahullāh) said, “Whatever is (sincerely) for (the sake of) Allāh, will remain”. And how free from imperfections is Allāh, the Mighty, there has not appeared [and spread] across the whole of the earth, except the Muwatta’ of Imām Mālik (raḥimahullāh). As for the Muwatta’ of Ibn Abee Dhi’b (raḥimahullāh), then it has no trace as far as I know.”

These words are shared here only because Shaykh ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbdirraḥīm al-Bukhārī—who remained upon the truth during the fitan—endorsed this praise for Salafi Publications and continues to support them. This is evidenced by his ongoing cooperation with them and their associates. Were it not for Shaykh ʿAbdullāh’s support, these words would not have been shared in this post.

Here is what Muḥammad Ibn Hādī wrote:

“Indeed I am acquainted with my brothers from al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah [Salafi Publications], in Birmingham in the state of Britain, with an acquaintance of long standing, and they are – until now, at the time of writing these lines – upon the best of condition in terms of active zeal in calling people to the correct Islāmic religion, and calling the people to the Salafī ʿAqīdah.

Their active zeal in that regard is well-known to me, and they have efforts worthy of thanks, they are to be thanked with regard to their connecting the Muslims around them with the Mashāyikh, the Scholars, and [for] establishing lessons for them with the people of knowledge.

And similarly, [for] their eagerness in this affair, every time they come to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for ʿUmrah and visitation, they establish for them [the Muslims] beneficial knowledge-based seminars with the Salafi Mashāyikh until they [the Muslims] return, having benefited [from that].

So may Allāh reward them with good for this action of theirs and may He bless their efforts.

And in closing this writing I counsel them with continuation upon this way and [with] striving in calling to Allāh and guiding the people to the truth, and [with] eagerness to increase in beneficial knowledge and righteous action.”

Shaykh ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbdir-Raḥīm al-Bukhārī appended his own endorsement at the bottom of the same page:

“In the Name of Allāh, to proceed: I have read what has been written by […] Muhammad bin Haadee […], and I agree with what he has written and counselled [in his words of praise about Salafi Publications]. I ask Allāh to grant success and guidance to all. May Allāh send prayers upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.

“In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of all that exists, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muḥammad, his family, and his companions.

The questioner is saying, the meaning of his words is, that he believes the Mashāyikh of the Salafi Da’wah in Birmingham, in that blessed and pure centre where Salafi lessons and knowledge-based conferences are held — they are known for the correctness of their manhaj and steadfastness upon it. It’s astonishing that this questioner says, “I don’t take knowledge from them but rather only take from various Islamic countries — from Arab countries and others.”

Subḥān Allāh al-‘Aẓheem. This questioner from Britain doesn’t give recognition to Salafi Publications and the Salafi Centre in Birmingham, whom the entire world from Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā‘ah recognises, respects, and honours. Who is this Luka‘ ibn Luka‘ (lowly, unknown person)? By Allāh, it’s something strange. This is one of the signs of going astray. Who are you, my brother, to say that they’re not Salafi and that you don’t take knowledge from them? Subḥān Allāh al-‘Aẓheem! The person who says this neither has knowledge nor is a student of knowledge but is, rather, a person of fitnah. So, beware of such a person and stay away from him. We ask Allāh to guide him and return him to the right path. Allāhul Musta‘ān.

Salafi Publications in Birmingham and the Salafi Centre there is established upon great good and a blessed call. Many scholars, the scholars of the Salafi Da’wah in the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] and elsewhere, acknowledge that and know them well.

So, you shouldn’t pay attention to the likes of this speech. And this Luka‘ ibn Luka‘ who speaks — he will go astray. We ask Allāh to guide and rectify him. He will go astray and mislead those who listen to his words and follow his statements. We ask Allāh for his guidance, Allāhul Musta‘ān. So, don’t pay attention to this person’s speech. May Allāh bless you.

My advice to the students of knowledge specifically in Britain and to those who teach in these centres, from those who’ve benefited from the Salafi Mashāyikh in Britain or elsewhere, is to closely adhere to the guidance of these Mashāyikh. These Mashāyikh are well-known by those near and far, and by the senior scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah. One should adhere to their guidance, seek their advice regularly, and return back to them regarding all matters of advancement or delay related to the Salafi Da‘wah and calling to Allāh in these lands.

Anyone who refuses and arrogantly turns away from this is misguided and misguides others. He will become misguided and lost. I ask Allāh to guide and rectify him. The words of such a person should not be heeded or taken seriously, and they should be warned and advised. Hopefully, if they accept the advice, they will return to the truth and be firm upon it. We ask Allāh for safety and well-being. Allāhul Musta‘ān.

Glad tidings to our brothers in Australia!

Glad tidings about the visit of the virtuous Shaykh Abu Khadeejah ʿAbdul Wāḥid, may Allāh protect him. 

The virtuous Shaykh, Abu Khadeejah, is one of the Mashāyikh and the scholars of the Sunnah in Birmingham.

Indeed, Allāh has made him beneficial in that country (UK), Pakistan, and other Islamic countries, calling people to Allāh, the Most High. He is soon visiting Australia to visit his Muslim brothers there. 

I am encouraging all my Muslim brothers in Australia, who live in this country, to start visiting Markaz Anas bin Malik, where the Shaykh will be visiting.”

“In reality, my dear brothers, this is the second year I have visited the brothers here in Britain, and all praise belongs to Allāh. We’ve seen much good in all the different centres we have visited: Markaz at-Tawheed, Ibn Seereen, Mu’aadh, Bin Baz, as-Sunnah, and Masjid as-Salafi. Brothers who pack out the Masājid, all praise belongs to Allāh. The brothers are all cooperating with one another, Mashāyikh who are upon good, all praise belongs to Allāh.

From the greatest of their qualities: their adherence to the Sunnah, from that which we have witnessed. And they connect the youth and the students to the major scholars. This is from the greatest qualities of the people of Sunnah: they connect the students to the people of knowledge, the major scholars, and they convey their Fatāwā. The greatest proof for this, i.e., connecting people to the scholars, is their translations of the books of the scholars. Salafi Bookstore is filled with translated books of the major scholars.

Therefore, it’s a must to cooperate with these brothers and Mashāyikh and these centres and to encourage one another with this, all praise belongs to Allāh. This is a tremendous good; do not allow yourselves to miss out on this good. Also, from the proofs that they connect the people to the scholars: every year, they travel for ’Umrah and they visit the scholars, convey their Fatāwā, and sit in their lessons. This is a clear indication that they are upon good.

We ask Allāh to keep us and you firm. Do not pay attention to those who revile your brothers and turn away from them, for no doubt, this is (an attempt) to hinder from the truth and hinder from the good that they spread. We ask Allāh to keep us, them, and you all firm.”

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

[كلمة في حق المكتبة السلفية في بريطانيا والمشايخ السلفيين القائمين عليها]

الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على رسوله وآله وأتباعه.

أما بعد؛ فإنَّ المكتبة السلفية في بريطانيا (برمنجهام) مكان ومركز سلفي معروف ويَعرفه مشايخ السنَّة الكبار، وفيه مشايخ سنَّة وطلاب علم يَقومون عليه وقائمون بالدعوة السلفية المباركة يَعرفهم أيضاً مشايخ السنَّة الكبار، وكان منهم جماعة أَعرِفهم كانوا معنا في المدينة النبوية -منذ حوالي ثلاثين سنة- وفي مجالس شيخنا العلامة الوالد الربيع -حفظه الله- وعلى الخط السلفي برغم ما كان مِن فتن القطبية والحدادية (وهي في أَوْجِها) كانوا ولله الحمد والمنة وراء علماء السنَّة الكبار على بصيرةٍ وثابتين، ولمَّا رَجعوا إلى بلاد الغرب قاموا بنشر الدعوة السلفية، ورَبطوا الناس بالعلماء وثَبتوا على طريق السنَّة وخط الكبار -حسيبهم الله تعالى، وكان لهم، وجزاهم خيراً على ما قَدَّموا وبَذلوا-.

فعلينا أن نحافظ على اجتماعهم ووحدة صفهم وكلمتهم، ونَعرف لهم سابقتهم (وكِبَر سنِّهم) وثباتهم ومشيهم على خط الكبار في الحق والدعوة إليه وعند الفتن، ولنخاطبهم ونَذكرهم بأجمل الأساليب والعبارة، ولنَجمع كلمة الناس حولهم وعليهم على الحق، ولنُعِينهم على كل خيرٍ نَقدِر عليه.

وأسأل الله أن يوفق الجميع لما يحب ويرضى، وأن يجنبنا الفتن ويجمع كلمتنا على الحق في كل شأن.

(An old but Renewed statement)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

[A Word Regarding the Maktabah Salafiyyah in Britain and the Salafi Mashayikh That Oversee It]

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, and peace, blessings, and salutation be upon His Messenger, his family, and his followers.

To proceed: Maktabah Salafiyyah in Britain (Birmingham) is a well-known Salafi place and centre, recognized by the Senior Scholars of the Sunnah. Amongst them are Mashayikh of Sunnah and students of knowledge who uphold it and carry out the blessed Salafi call. These individuals are also known to the senior scholars of the Sunnah. Among them are a group I personally know, who were with us in the Prophet’s City of Madinah about thirty years ago, attending the gatherings of our Shaykh, the ‘Allamah, the scholar, the fatherly figure, Rabee‘—may Allah preserve him—who adhere to the Salafi path. This was despite the trials and tribulations of the Qutubiyyah and Haddadiyyah (which were at their peak at the time). By Allah’s grace and favour —and all praise is due to Allah— they stood firm behind the Senior Scholars of the Sunnah with insight and steadfastness. When they returned to the lands of the West, they undertook the task of disseminating the Salafi call, connecting people to the Scholars, remaining steadfast on the path of the Sunnah and the way of the Senior Scholars—may Allah reward them with good— for what they have put forth and exerted from effort.

Thus, it is incumbent upon us to preserve their unity, maintain the cohesion of their ranks and united word, and recognize their precedence (and their years and older age), their steadfastness, and their adherence to the path of the Senior Scholars in upholding the truth, calling to it, and standing firm during trials. Let us address them and mention them with the finest manners and expressions. Let us unite the people’s word around them and with them upon the truth, and let us assist them upon every good deed we are capable of.

I ask Allah to guide everyone to what He loves and is pleased with, to protect us from trials, and to unite our word upon the truth in every matter.

“Imām Mālik رحمه الله, what did he say? Everyone (after the Prophet ﷺ) will have his statement either accepted or rejected.
Okay, we know Abū Khadeejah. And Shaykh Wasiullāh said, regarding Abū Khadeejah, a statement that is other than what we know (of Abū Khadeejah). Thus, what is the outcome? The Manhaj of the companions is easy, their way is clear, their way is easy.

This statement of Shaykh Wasiullāh is a criticism of who? Of Abū Khadeejah and Abū Hakeem.
And you are all aware that we accept criticism. The scholars and the Salaf say (may Allāh have mercy upon them) that criticism is of two types:

• A general criticism (jarḥ mujmal)
• A detailed criticism (jarḥ mufaṣṣal).

You know Abū Khadeejah. And this criticism is in opposition to what is known regarding Abū Khadeejah. Okay, did Shaykh Wasiullāh detail his criticism? Answer. [Students: No.] Therefore, it was a general criticism.

Is the general criticism accepted whilst there is detailed praise of Abū Khadeejah?
Where is this detailed praise? I am the one who knows him (even if) that which is known may be little. Abū Khadeejah has translated… has many translations. He translated tapes/cassettes, lectures, and books—the books of our scholars and mashāyikh. I have not seen him translate anything from the people of innovation.

And this Shaykh (Wasiullāh), what does he say? That “when he (Abū Khadeejah) speaks or gives a sermon, then you will hear that which will hurt you, O Salafis.”
I’ve known him. How long have we known you for, O Abū Khadeejah? It exceeds 10 years. I do not know of any statement he has made that opposes Salafiyyah.

Perhaps many amongst you know or know not. Yes, Abū Khadeejah spoke against an organisation in Birmingham, another masjid that goes by the name of Jamāʿat Ahlul-Ḥadīth.

Yes, this is what Abū Khadeejah said regarding them. So if this (speaking out) is against these who claim to represent Salafiyyah, then we say no, (this isn’t sufficient to criticise Abū Khadeejah). What Abū Khadeejah has written, what Abū Khadeejah has translated, what Abū Khadeejah stands for… And it is sufficient (as praise) what Salafi Publications teach. They have schools, they educate. What do they say? What do they teach? Who do they host? Who teaches at their Masjid?

We know our Scholars: Shaykh ʿUbayd, Shaykh Rabeeʿ, even Shaykh ʿAbdullāh bin al-Ghudayān—I remember visiting him on one occasion. The point being, some of the brothers mentioned to Shaykh al-Ghudayān …
So the Shaykh said to me, ‘Mā shā Allāh, you visited Birmingham?’ This is how he would pronounce it, ‘Birmingham.’
I said, ‘Yes.’
Shaykh al-Ghudayān said to me, ‘Mā shā Allāh, do you know Abū Khadeejah?’
I said, ‘How can I not know Abū Khadeejah.’
And Shaykh al-Ghudayān had a weekly lesson with the brothers (at Salafi Publications).

So all of this is… And we say in response to, “his speech harms the Salafis” – who are these Salafis? O my brothers! Verification [of news] is obligatory!
A detailed criticism, yes (it is accepted). However, the general criticism—it is not accepted by anyone, ever, especially if the one being generally criticised has many praises that are known in detail.”
